508 Compliance
I've been working on a project that our client requires to be 508 compliant. I've done some research on this topic, and also have done scans on our project utilizing the built in tool and 3rd party tools. One thing that keeps popping up is errors for not having a noscript tag for each and every script tag. There seems to be a lot of script tags generated by the system. Has anyone else had to deal with this? If so, what was your resolution.

I've talked to my client about this, explained to them what a noscript tag was and why there were so many script tags generated by the site. They're doing some internal discussion, but I wanted to be ahead of the game to see if there's anything that can be done in the event that this is an issue for them.

Also, looking at other sites that are supposed to be 508 compliant, they seem to ignore the noscript tag requirement, or they may have just a single one that just provides a message that their browser isn't rendering javascript.

RE:508 Compliance
Hi,

There are sites running on Kentico and that are 508 compliant. Could you please clarify which scripts do you mean? Have you tried using e.g. different menu web part than the drop down menu? (this is just an idea)
It is up to you how you will design the web site and what scripts are used. You can create live site without any scripts if you need.

Best regards,

RE:508 Compliance
I am referring to scripts placed by ScriptHelper, from different web parts. Is there anyway to override ScriptHelper without having the Kentico source code?

RE:508 Compliance
Hello,

I am not sure what exactly you mean. It also depends what web parts you are using - in some cases some web parts cannot be used. If you could give us more details we would be able to say whether a customization is needed or you will have to use some alternative approach.

Best regards,
