Update media files in CMS Desk

Hi Team,

We are adding media such as images and videos into Kentico CMS via CMS Desk under Site Hierarchy. Can you please let us know, how to update the media files without loosing previous versions?

Also let us know how to manage versioning in Media Library and setting access rights to specific media file?

Are you talking about the files stored in Media library or Content tree? Are you using the Object versioning, more details also about the Supported object types. Best regards, Martin Danko

You cannot manage versions of files in the Media Library. Nor can you manage specific file rights in the Media Library. In the media library you can only set permissions/security for the whole library itself.

You can however manage versions AND security for documents/files in the content tree.
