Regrettably, I have not been able to reproduce this issue. The custom field of datetime type saved the entered value as expected.
So, could you please make sure you are using the latest hotfix?
If it does not help, could you please describe behavior of this issue in more detail?
Is there any error message displayed, or are there any related logs in the Event log [Site manager -> Administration -> Event log]?
Are other fields saved correctly?
Where do you encounter this issue, I mean do you use any web part or it happens in the
CMS Desk when editing a user?
