Help files in another format
Is it possible to receive a copy of the User Guide 1.6 version help files, KenticoCMSUsersGuide.chm, (and 1.7 where possible), in another format rather than Compiled HTML help file format, CHM?

Although I personally find this format very useful, there appear to be restrictions for the use of this format within my user's computer settings making this format less desirable.

Re: Help files in another format
Hello,

could you please write me what problem you have with opening the files? We currently know only about one issue that is caused by some Microsoft fix that doesn't allow you to open a CHM file downloaded from the Internet. Do you get any error?

Thank you.

Re: Help files in another format
Sorry there is no problem with your CHM files per se.

It is the security settings and Microsoft fixes on our internal network which are to blame.

These are my issues:

Downloading CHM files is not allowed via Internet/intranet
Opening CHM files from a remote drive (Pages appear blank)

I can get around this by zipping up your CHM files and asking the user to save and view them from their C drive versus their documents folder (shared drive), but I am just trying to avoid confusion from less than savvy users.

Well, if you need to distribute the user's guide to your on-line users, you could recommend them using the on-line help that is available directly in the Kentico CMS Desk user interface. It can be opened by clicking on the green question marks.

Please let me know if it works for you.

Hmm seem to have overlooked that option.

I think that the online help should be enough for my users.

Thanks.
