Restrict User from Moving Items in Content Tree
Is there a way to restrict users from moving top-level items in the content tree?

Our site structure is as follows:

Sitename
>Home
>Machines
>Accessories
>Software
>Embroidery

This structure cascades to our sub-nav on all pages. We support 20+ cultures and if one user rearranges the items, it cascades and reflects to all cultures. I logged in today to find:

Sitename
>Home
>Accessories
>Software
>Machines (item was moved)
>Embroidery

Our problem is, the editors need access to these top level documents and all the child documents.

RE:Restrict User from Moving Items in Content Tree
I believe you'd have to revoke the modify permissions to Content which would eliminate a lot of features. I haven't tested this but you might be able to create a global method that anytime a document is updated check to see if it is being "moved" or not and at what node level is as well as the current user and the roles they belong to. If all of them agree, cancel the update.

RE:Restrict User from Moving Items in Content Tree
Hello,

Unfortunately, this functionality is not supported and at the moment it's not possible to control movement of the documents on the requested level.
But just to inform you, requirement for this functionality already exists.

On the other side, if you want functionality like this available in the feature version of Kentico, you can suggest it and also other users will be able to vote for it (more users = higher priority), on the special page: http://kentico.uservoice.com/

Best regards,
