Kentico V3.0 live page url override

On Kentico v3.0 our root node of our site Live Url keeps trying to post default.aspx.. our index page is actually Index.aspx
I have tried/done the following things:
Created a page template using ~/index.aspx and Properties > Template > HomePageTemplate.
Modified the cms.root document type to use the HomePageTemplate (there is only one root in use)

One issue I have is that the Properties>Path *.* is disabled on this particular page.

How can I change the Live URL? IIS home pages don’t work here as the cms is overriding.
I don't want to change our default alias path as the rest of the site does use default.aspx.
Is there a way I can simply override in the database the root url. IIS 7.5 has index.aspx as the first page to load and it never fires.

Hi,

I am sorry but I am not getting the meaning why you want to do it?

You can setup the default alias path so if someone will visit domain.com it will be redirected to the default alias path page.

Or, you can setup the URL redirection in Poperties -> Menu section for the root document.

Regrettably, you are using very old version and there were not that many ways how to change it.

As I said above. I can't set the alias path on the root node as the field is disabled for some reason. Hence why I want to override the live url. If I could add an alias then all would be fine.
Also.. as I stated above, I don't want to use redirection via menu as it then exposes the index.aspx title. I want to do it because the site 404s if the redirector is not running as it should.

Hi,

As I mentioned, you are using an old version and there is no easy way how to do it. There are only workarounds. I would set rather the default alias path and manage this on a page one level down and have the root document to be only the master page holder and the header and footer envelope nothing more.
