Struggling mightily with tags and categories with blog posts
So I created a blog at the root of the site called News. Then I created one post to try it out. So far so good. My biggest issue comes in understanding how Categories and Tags are related to the BlogPosts. When clicking a single post using CMSDesk > Content > Properties, I can set Tags on the Metadata tab and Categories on the Categories tab. However, when I edit or create a BlogPost, I can't select a Category at that time like I am to with, for example, Wordpress. I can select Tags, but they don't seem to be related to the Metadata Tags that I setup in the Properties screen, they are not available with the Tag Selector control. Please help me understand how the two Tag objects differ.

I have more questions, but I'll start with that one.

Thanks,

Steve

RE:Struggling mightily with tags and categories with blog posts
If you want to be able to set the document tags for your blog posts in the same form where you create the blog posts, all you have to do is add a new "System Attribute" its the button with a Cog and plus sign icon. Then choose "Document Attributes" and choose "DocumentTags" in the next field.

You can also add any of the other attributes you see in that list.

You can't, as far as I know, add a Categories field for whatever reason. You have to edit the categories after you create the document. This is one of the reasons that I rarely use the categories.
