Install failed - Failed to uninstall Windows Services

Greetings,
Trying to install version 6 on Windows 2008 R2 Standard SP 1 Server but running into error (screenshot link below). Fails here every time, I've tried running it as administrator and running it in win 2008 compatibility mode.

Hello,

The first part of the error states: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Core, Version3.5.0.0

This error is usually caused by either not having .NET 3.5 installed, or the current installation is somehow corrupted. Could you please double check if you have .NET 3.5 installed? If so, Could you please try reinstall/repair the .Net framework installation. It seems something is wrong with the current install.

I installed Visual Studio 10 Express + .NET 4.0 + SQL 2008 via the MS Web Platform Installer. It automatically installed .NET 2.0, but no 3.5. Do I need 3.5 even though I select 4.0 as target for Kentico ? Thank you Denny

Could you please check whether the .NET 4 is installed and registered correctly? Have you tried to re-install/repair it? Or, you can also try to install .Net 3.5 to see if it helps. Member	denny101-gmx - 12/5/2011 5:05:49 AM RE:Install failed - Failed to uninstall Windows Services Hi, I checked and reinstalled the .net 4.0 manually using the "dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64.exe" from Microsoft website. Same error message. Then I installed .NET 3.5 and it worked. For me (I am a newbie) it needs .NET 3.5 Denny
