Small e-commerce template on free edition

Hello,

I am installing Kentico FREE editon with the idea of builing a small e-commerce. During installation I found out the e-commerce template is not available for FREE license.

Is there any way I could create a e-commerce site using Kentico using the FREE license or this product is not for me? I was expecting the free would have another kind of limitation (quantities, logos, features, etc) but not limitation about the kind of site.

Hello.

It seems to me weird that the whole template is not available. There are some E-commerce limitations on Free edition, like number of products (max 10) and so on, but the template itself could be there.

Could you please have a look into <project folder>/App_Data/Templates, if “EcommerceSite” directory is there or not?

Hello Radek,

You are right. The EcommerceSite is in the folder. I did not realize that. As I said, during the setup wizard the Ecommerce was not an option. It said this was not for the Free trial. Anyway...

How can I change the template I am using now? Do I have to go to Site Manager and what?

Hello Igor.

Usually, you can install new site based on some web template using Site Manager / Sites / New site wizard / Use website template option. So are you saying that the folder is in the project folder, but it is not available for selection in wizard above? Is that template registered in Site Manager / Development / Web templates section?
