CMSDesk forces me to sign on after I try to save editable text.
Hi,
This is a deployment question. A problem occurs when an editor tries to save a page (editabe text). The system will sign you out. The update is lost.

I have uploaded my site to a commercial hosting service. The site works oké for the regular user.
As an editor I try to edit some text. When I save the page the system responds with the logon screen an I have to sign on again and my update is lost.
If I limit my update time to a couple of minutes then I manage to save my update. However this timeout period is unpredicatable
Then I used the Connection Timeout=240 in the connection string, that I also used with Version 5.5R2.No luck though.
In parallel I have added a password to the adminstrator role.

I checked the Installation and Deployment section in the Dev Guide but I did not find any suggestions.

Any tips?
Thanks, Eric

Hi,

What are the limits set by your hosting - limits on CPU and Memory usage?
Are there any errors logged in the even log?

I guess that the application is being restarted. Most common issue is that the hosting restrictions are too low for using the resources and the application is being killed.

Best regards,
Juraj Ondrus

Hi,
the most likely cause was that the application had 2 cultures and used the free license.
There is only 1 culture allowed. Since it is a demo we will use the application as is with all its limitations.

Hello,

Thank you for the update. We can provide you with a temporary license key that will remove these restrictions for your demo purposes. Please send an email to support@kentico.com if you would like a demo license key.

Best Regards,
Edward Hillard

Hi,
Indeed a memory issue at the hosting site. But maybe useful for others is the following.

If you move to a hosting provider then your site may be configured with a dedicated application pool or a shared application pool. Default setting in this case was DEDICATED app pool. Max. memory setting was 100MB which caused the recycle. There are many posts on the Internet with questions in this area, but no real answer to find your setting.
In this situation though if you change the setting to SHARED app pool, then CMS will behave as designed.
Hope this was useful.
