Macro not working in v6
We have a macro which worked on v5.5 but doesn't seem to work on v6:
{%portalcontext.viewmode|(equals)Edit%}

Has anything changed with v6 to make this not now function?

Could you please try the following macro:
{% PortalContext.ViewMode == "Edit" %}
