Hi,

Please, read through this chapter of our documentation where you can find a step by step description how to configure the search, how it works and how to use it: Smart search configuration.

I think that is very trouble.
I research in Kentico CMS Tutorial (ASPX templates) - Creating a new site using ASPX templates - Search page. But I can't do it. Alway: No results were found

I want to create a search function as in the instructions, but not yet. Can you help me, step - by - step. Please!

RE:Search
Hi,

I am sorry but I do not understand this "
I want to create a search function as in the instructions, but not yet". Could you please explain?

what are the search index settings? Have you assigned correct index? Is the culture assigned to your index? More details would be much appreciated. the configuration of the smart search index is described in the documentation, step by step. Then, you just need to set your search box and search results web parts - again, it is described step by step in the documentation. The same properties are available if the web parts are used in ASPX templates.

RE:Search
Hi,

could you please explain what is not clear for your from the documentation?

Demos are charged with extra fees however, I think that the documentation is easy to follow and understand what needs to be configured for the smart search index and then how to use it in appropriate web part.

You can also install the sample site and copy/follow the settings there.

RE:Search
If you do it according to the portal corporate web site. I mean that sample site, it is easy. Just add a smart search web part and configure it according to the sample one.

RE:Search
Hi,

Have you rebuilt the index? Is the culture assigned to the index? What are the path and documents settings for the index?

How many items are displayed as indexed for the index? There is a frame where you see the no. of indexed items, last rebuild time, optimization info, etc.

Best regards,
Juraj Ondrus

RE:Search
Hi,

and what is the status of the index after the rebuild is done? You need to refresh the page, the rebuild can take several minutes.

RE:Search
Hi Juraj,

Same situation as the member's occurred on my site. I referred to the document and did step by step. Enabled the smart search, created and rebuild the index, added the smart search with result web part in the page. But after I clicked the search button, the results were always 'No results were found'. The version of KCMS I am using is v7.0.34. Could you please give me any other suggestion about it?

I look forward to your reply.

Best regards,
Maggie

RE:Search
Hi,

Is anything found when using the "Search preview" tab in the smart search index settings?
Are the allowed content documents published, are you using any access permissions to them?
What are the search results web part settings? Is correct index used?
Are you able to reproduce the issue on the sample Corporate site too?

Best regards,
Juraj Ondrus
