Home page redirecting to a different page
I had to deal with a strange problem .

I had unpublished one of the documents living in our site , but our home page kept redirecting to this page until we deleted the unpublished page.

I checked the master page , other web parts to see if there was a reference to the page and could not find any.

Only detail I get from event log is there is a getattachment call from some of the pages.

I need to get the issue cleared , but unable to troubleshoot because everything looks fine.

Has someone come across such an issue?

Thanks
Siini

RE:Home page redirecting to a different page
Hello Siini

You could have tried the Publish To Date and put it in the past and then published the document?

Also if you can check whether this page alias have been set properly on the home page and deleted page? Properties --> URLs

If you can check whether the homepage does not have any redirection on it, Properties --> Menu --> URL redirection

Hope this helps.

RE:Home page redirecting to a different page
Hi Ilesh

Thanks for your response. I am pretty sure URL aliasing was not the issue and verified once again.

I just looked at URL redirection. There are no issues there. If URL aliasing and redirection were the issues it would have persisted when we deleted the unpublished document.

Thanks
Sini

RE:Home page redirecting to a different page
Hi,

Were there any URL rewriting/redirection rules set on IIS?
What web parts were on that page?
There must have been something on the page invoking the redirection.
However, without knowing the exact setup or having chance to take look, it is hard to say.

Best regards,
