Is there a method to apply/configure a default role for all users upon user creation?
i am creating users through custom method, but was hoping when users are created, they would have specific un-expiring role assigned.

how would you make that happen programmatically or within kentico config?

I think this depends on what your custom method is. You can check out this page for an example to add a user to a role.
