Membership
I'm trying to configure a demo for some test membership roles, groups etc. so I can demonstrate how a product can be used a membership type. Everytime I navigate to Site Manager>Administration>Membership I continue to receive the message stating Resource 'CMS.Membership' is not available on the current site.

I've tried this on full license enterprise version (full install), small business license (full install and custom install) and get the same message. All three installs are using different databases and files. Any suggestions?

RE:Membership
Hi,

What is the exact version number of your CMS?
Was the CMS upgraded from 5.5R2 version or is it a clean installation?
What were the steps during installation? Have you selected the custom mode to select the modules? If so, which modules were selected and which not?

Best regards,
Juraj Ondrus

RE:Membership
I used a fresh install of 6.0 on both instances. Then this past week I did the hotfix updates to v6.0.4315. I didn't ever go to the Membership area prior to the hotfix updates so I'm not sure if it was a problem before or not.

On the full install, no options were changed, I used the suggested install and installed everything. On the custom mode install, I don't remember everything I unchecked but from what I remember it was the major things that the Small Business License didn't need and the other website templates.

RE:Membership
Hi,

I am aware of a bug in the membership products which will be fixed in hotfix no.3 however the error message and steps leading to it were different.

Could you please post whole error you are getting and also, I do not want to bother you, exact steps how to get to this error? I am unable to reproduce it so far :-(

Which sample site are you using?

Best regards,
Juraj Ondrus

RE:Membership
I used just the blank portal site. When I did the install I did a custom install and unchecked the extra sites like intranet, personal, etc as I didn't need or want the overhead in the file system. I don't believe I unchecked anything else when installing but I also didn't write down what I did during those steps so I may have but I'm not 100% sure. Then after the install is finished and I import the site I created from the blank portal template I navigate to Site Manager>Administration>Membership and get the message: CMS.Membership is not available with this site.

RE:Membership
Hi,

I have followed your description and unchecked all the other sites except the blank site - I used this site to import a site during DB installer and I am still unable to reproduce the issue :-(

Maybe I am missing some detail. If you could recall something more, that would be great!

Best regards,

RE:Membership
Only detail I can think of that you might be missing is that it is a Small Business License. Is the membership feature available with Small Business? I've been through the same process you mention and even manually selected every item to import and still come up with the same message. But the minute I delete the site, it shows as expected.

RE:Membership
Well after quite a few hours I was able to make it work with the site and Small Business License. I had initially created the site on 5.5 R2 and exported and imported my work into 6.0. So I wonder if that wasn't the problem.

I tried several times to export and import and continued to receive the same notification. So what I did was created a new blank site and copied all my pages, content, containers, templates, etc. to the new blank site and deleted the original site and everything worked just fine.

RE:Membership
Hi,

The information that you have imported 5.5R2 version of the site into 6.0 explains everything. Since the membership is new in 6.0, obviously, it was not exported/imported with the site from an older version. To fix this, all you had to do is go to Site Manager -> Development -> Modules -> Membership module and on the Sites tab add your site to list.
