Can't delete a web part
I'm just starting my 30-day trial of Kentico and am very impressed so far, but I've run into an issue.

I deleted a web part zone from my template without removing the web parts that had been placed there. This caused an error in design mode. I put the zone back into the template which fixed the error, but now I can't delete the web parts. I've moved them to new zones, tried different browsers, cleared caches, checked Worker process in IIS, but nothing has worked so far. I can ignore them for now, but ultimately, I'd like to remove them. Any ideas?

Thanks.

RE:Can't delete a web part
So deleting the web part zone actually has nothing to do with the issue. I can't delete a web part from the edit > design view at all.

Furthermore, I added an editable web part and my changes aren't being saved. I click save, then go to preview and the changes are gone. If I go back to edit, they are no longer there.

I am able to remove the web parts if I go to Site Manager > Development > Page Templates and edit the template from there. I am unable to remove the web part using CMS Desk> Content >Edit >Design.

Am I missing something?

RE:Can't delete a web part
Hello.

So far, it is a very general description and the problem is very probably related to your environment, or the installation itself. The first though which came on my mind is, according to the nature of the problem, that there could be some problem with AJAX / JavaScript functionality, mainly if you are not able to remove web part from a page template.
Let me ask you a few questions in order to determine possible cause of the problem.

1. Can you see any JS error warning in any browser you tried?
2. When using FireBug tool for FireFox and try to remove a web part, does any JS error occur?
3. Is this default page template, or a custom one?
4. Any custom web part or a custom JS included?
5. Any error message in your Event log in Site Manager / Administration section?

Thank you.

Best Regards,
Radek Macalik

RE:Can't delete a web part
Thank you. It was vague, and as it turns out was my fault. There was a hidden field in a 3rd-party form that caused the errors. After removing that everything is working as expected.
