No files extensions in friendly URL
Hi,

I have a website configure with friendly URL with no extension. So URL of the page don't have extension and look like /Downloads, that work fine. However the same page can still be access with the URL with the extension .aspx like /Downloads.aspx. Because of this that page is reference in duplicate in the search engine. So how can we block the alias with .aspx or redirect the extension less URL?

RE:No files extensions in friendly URL
In your Site Manager>Settings>Urls and SEO clear the URL Format fields: Friendly URL extensions, Files friendly URL extension. Secondly, check the Redirect document aliases to main URL box so it will always redirect to main alias. Thirdly, uncheck the Redirect documents to main extension box. This should get you what you need or at least it works perfect for me.

RE:No files extensions in friendly URL
Hi,

You may also need to configure your IIS and web.config to handle the extension less URLs correctly. Please see the documentation.
