Frontend editing for the repeater
Hi Guys,

I would like to have an frontend edit and delete buttons for the repeater articles for all the authenticated members. So that any authenticated members can edit my news articles.

I can see that repeater has an parameter called "Show edit and delete button".

I have ticked this options but still it is not showing for the authenticated members.

Thanks
Gitesh Shah

RE:Frontend editing for the repeater
Hi,

These buttons are displayed in CMS Desk in Edit mode only. If you want to allow live site users to modify the content I would suggest you usingUser contributions module.

Hi Juraj,

User Contributions List webpart is great. It has solved my problem, but still having one problem.

How would you edit the "Editable text" webpart content from the front-end of the website.

Cheers

RE:Frontend editing for the repeater
Hi,

This is not possible since the editable region is available on the Page tab which is visible to the editors only. It might be possible to achieve it by a customization - but, it will be a huge and dangerous customization.

It would be easier to add the HTML area field to be available on the Form tab for given document type and then also on the live site and then just display its value using a repeater.

Thanks Juraj,

That's fine but might be good to have this feature in the next versions.

RE:Frontend editing for the repeater
Hi,

I am sorry but I do not see any reason for it since you can achieve the same already with the user contributions and as I mentioned, the editable text web part - the editing of it is available only for content editors who have access to the CMS Desk. So, allowing this on the live site is a pretty big security risk for all users.

Or, on the other hand, you can use the editable text web part as a widget.
