Mysterious UPDATEDOC tasks in CMS Desk > Tools > Staging

A group of 40+ UPDATEDOC tasks appeared in the list under Tools > Staging, all within the same 2-minute time period. It's basically one for almost every document on our site. Nobody has touched these documents, and their version history confirms this. I'm unable to tell what was actually updated about these documents. Has anyone else seen anything like this, or any ideas of what could have created these records? We're using v6.0.58 (SP1).

Has anyone reordered the pages or deleted a page? I've found when you reorder a page in the content tree it updates all the other pages as well and they will all need to be synchronized or they will be out of order.

I should also mention, even if they weren't physically moved but simply clicked and drug around and left in the same position, this will do the same thing.
