Ambiguity in Web Analytics
HI

when i check online users in kentico cms there is a number of online users/visitors but when i check the number of online users with Google Real Time i see completely different number of visitors online on the live site.
this is completely natural because Kentico Online User monitoring system take into account even crawlers and bots in addition to real visitors.but Google use js code.

here a question arises and that is :
Do the web analytics calulate a visit for this type of visitors (crawlers , bots)?

i do some test and see analytics calculate a visit for each crawl.
by my test, analytics calculate a vist for crawling (for example my link checker program - not browser - cause kentico analytics to calculate one visit for each link that my program check and so do same for online users/visitor).

we know that it is not very important to see how many users online but analytics data is very very important because webmasters decide based on analytics data.

RE:Ambiguity in Web Analytics
Hello,

Yes, we are using a different metrics than Google Analytics. However, if you want to change this you can simply use the logging via JS. For more details please take a look at the our Dev Guide -> Enabling web analytics section, I believe this is exactly what are you looking for.

Best regards,
