How Does "Redirect documents to main extension" Setting Work?
The documentation for this setting says:

If enabled, URLs will be redirected to a corresponding URL with the current main extension if their extension is different. The main extension is the first one specified in the Friendly URL extension field.

I've been trying to use this but I'm missing some detail. Lets say I've set the "Friendly URL extensions" to ".aspx" only and I have a page www.mysite.com/index.aspx. If I check the setting will it redirect www.mysite.com/index.cfm to index.aspx?

In what scenarios would this be used?

Thanks,
Scott

RE:How Does "Redirect documents to main extension" Setting Work?
Hi,

You need to allow the other extension too to be handled by our URL rewriting.
then, it will be redirected to the main extension.

This is used to ensure better SEO since documents with different extensions and the same content can be marked as duplicate content which hurts the SEO ranking.
