CMSdesk Page not Found

I am experiencing a problem in version 5.0 Kentico when trying to login to the CMSdesk.

I try to login by visiting the typical URL path:

http://www.mywebsite.co.uk/cmsdesk

I then fill in the login details and click the "Log on" button, but instead of it directing me to the CMSdesk, I am re-directed to the the 404 Page not Found instead.

However, if I use one of the below URL addresses, I can log into the CMSdesk just fine.

http://www.mywebsite.co.uk/cmsdesk/
http://www.mywebsite.co.uk/cmsdesk/default.aspx

The strange thing is, even though I am being re-directed to the "Page not Found" after filling in my login details, the Event Log shows that the system has authenticated me successfully.

Has anyone else experienced this problem before?

Hi,

What is the exact version number? Regrettably, there were some bugs related to the URLs settings and when using extension less URLs and similar which were already fixed.
Could you please apply the latest hotfix or upgrade to a newer version? I am sorry for this inconvenience.

If you are using extension-less URLs, could you please double check the configuration and also that the web.config contains the additional lines?
