Images Break When Moving a Page
When I use the Move button to transfer a page to another section, the images in that page break. I inspected the source code of the moved page to find that the <img>'s "src" attribute was still pointing to the original content location, rather than its new location.

When I copy content and then move it, I do not encounter this issue.

Is this a bug or, perhaps, am I misunderstanding the functionality here?

Best,
Nick

RE:Images Break When Moving a Page
Hi,

Where are the links broken you are referring to? Are those links created in some editable region? If so, it is obvious they got broken after you move the document - the document has a new path and URL. Since the links are added to the editable region and/or are using the name path, this is not updated.

To ensure that the links won't be broken you should use the "Use permanent URLs" setting - http://devnet.kentico.com/docs/devguide/url_format_and_configuration.htm.

Best regards,

RE:Images Break When Moving a Page
The broken links are within the document (page), but they only break when I Move the Document; not when I Copy and then Move the Document. I would think Moving the Document would similarly update the image paths relative to its new location, similar to what happens when I copy.

Will the "Use permanent URLs" setting change the website's URLs and thus require me to change the site's navigation accordingly, or will it just be for assets, such as images?

Best,
Nicholas

RE:Images Break When Moving a Page
Hi,

What I meant is how are the links created on the pages? Are they created using the link icon from the WYSIWYG tool bar or, are they generated using transformation?

IF you have created the link in the WYSIWYG editor to soma page - it is the path to the page and when you move the document it is like its removed - the path to it is no longer valid, therefore the link is not valid (unless you are using the permanent URLs settings I mentioned in previous post). You need to update the links manually. You may ask why it is not done automatically? Imagine that you have several thousands of documents and checking every document if it contains link to the document you moved - that would take for ever. Anyway, on our Marketplace is available an utility for checking broken links on your web site.

The setting for permanent URLs won't change anything existing, it will take effect only on newly created links.
