After IE-update this week it is not possible to get the dialog box for insert/edit-link up without placing IE in compatibility-mode.

Hello,

I am sorry, but IE9 is not supported browser for content editing in version 5.5 R2 of Kentico CMS. So you have following three options:

1) Switch your IE9 to compatibility mode (as you mentioned it)
2) Upgrade your Kentico CMS to version 6.0
3) Use one of the previous versions of IE (IE8 or lower) or another browser like FireFox
