assigning existing pages to a new master page and templates
Hi,

I created a new master page and new templates. I want to assign a new master page to the site, and assign new templates to some of the pages.

Is there any impact to the content of existing page? Will I lose existing copy on the page or web parts already assigned?

Appreciate your advise.

Regards,
Willy

RE:assigning existing pages to a new master page and templates
Hi,

Depending on the web parts which are placed on the new templates you can keep the content - if you will use the same web parts and the same configuration, then they will display the same content. If not, something else will be displayed.

There is one problem with editable region web part - you will have to copy its content and then paste it to the new page template to the editable region placed here.

Hello,

How should it work?

You can configure a page template to be a master page by enabling the Master page option on the General tab of the page template editing interface at Site Manager -> Development -> Page templates.

Please see here: The master page concept for more details.

Hi Willy,

You can have as many as master pages as you wish. Then you can assign different master pages to the roots of the sites.
