Newsletters and dynamic content

I am trying to setup a newsletter that pulls content from a webpage. On the page that is being referenced in my newsletter I have a Latest News webpart. When I view the page, I see my 10 latest news articles as I expect. When I send out the newsletter to my subscriber list (me), I don't see anything displayed from the LatestNews webpart. I do get other information displayed in the newsletter, like my static html and I can display a newslist with events in it, but can't seem to get the latest news articles.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello.

I tried it and when I receive dynamic newsletter into my mail box (in Outlook), I can see content of Latest news web part. So it should works. If it does not in your case, we would need investigate it on your site. Could you please send a support request to support@kentico.com and refer this forum post? Thank you.

I have all of my properties in the webpart set to the default and have tried a number of different transformations, all to no avail. I'll send a note to support.

Alright, here's what I found. Hopefully it saves someone else some grief.

The News items that are on my site were all outdated. The publish to and from were in the past on them. When I view the page that I'm trying to link my newsletter to, there was a toolbar across the top that says "this is a preview mode for document...". When that was showing, the page would show all of these outdated news articles. When I clicked close on it, then my news articles disappeared and the page looked just like the newsletter that I was receiving in my email. So in the end, it was all "working as designed".

The part that was throwing me off was that I have a scrolling news webpart on a page that if I pointed the newsletter at that page, it seemed to work fine and would display all of my news items from the scrolling news part. It appears that the "Select only published" option of the scrolling news item isn't working correctly as it shows all of my news items whether published or not.

Thank you for additional info. As for "It appears that the "Select only published" option of the scrolling news item isn't working correctly as it shows all of my news items whether published or not." - I tested it on my default 5.5 version and Scrolling news web part behaves properly as per value of "Select only published" property. What is your version of Kentico CMS, please? If you see news items in your web part, which are not published, it may have 2 reasons - you are not on Live site, but in Preview mode only, or the previous version of file under workflow is used. Could you please check these options? Thank you.
