Assigning a Message Board or Wiki to a Content Article
I am evaluating Kentico for our CMS needs. My site publishes hundreds of articles of news and allows users to post feedback or comments to each article, similar to a blog comment. I was told by the sales staff that I could accomplish this with a Wiki or Message Board. Has anyone tried this kind of thing or did you build your own thing. If you did how did you manage the comments? My concern is management. If I put a message board up for each article, how would my editor go through and find all the comments without having to go to each article. Ideally it would be something on the My screen that they can approve or not.

Thanks!

Hello,

I would recommend using Message boards module. You can administrate message boards in "CMS Desk -> Tools -> Message boards" section.

RE:Assigning a Message Board or Wiki to a Content Article
Thanks for the info. Our Web Editor did his part of due diligence on our Kentico eval and had come to that conclusion as well. Here were some of his issues with this. I have some ideas of how to solve some of these but wanted to see what others/Kentico thought:

1) Current call-to-action language for the Message Board web part is "Leave message" instead of "Leave a comment"

2) Message boards don't seem to support threaded comment streams. So I can't reply to an existing comment, all I can do is drop a new message at the end of the stream.

3) Messages appear in chronological order (oldest on top) instead of reverse chronological

4) Message form asks the user to enter a URL, which doesn't make sense for us. Can we remove it?

RE:Assigning a Message Board or Wiki to a Content Article
Hello,

Please find answers bellow:

1) You can change value of resource string with following name: blog.commentview.leavecomment

2) Regrettably threaded comments are not supported by message boards. You may consider using forums instead.

3, 4) I've checked this in version 5.5 and there is newest item on the top and the URL field is just optional. Could you please let me know what version of Kentico CMS you use?

Best Regards,
