Multi culture website: cannot change culture with Firefox
I'm developing a multilanguage website (4 available languages). When using IE everything is OK; with FF i'm not able to change the document culture: when I change the DropDownList with the current language, the tree is correctly updated, but the content frame still shows the German version.

How can I upload the relative screenshots (the website is still not online, so I cannot reference a public URL)?

Many thanks
Regards

Hi Emanuele,

did you follow this tutorial while creating your multilingual website?

Every time you create content for another language version, please be sure you translate at least the root document and the home page. Otherwise, the website will not be displayed correctly.

I tried the behavior you had described in FF and I did not notice any problem.

First I translated root and home page document. Then I selected an untranslated document in Content menu. Then I select German Language in DropDownList. I selected Copy content from another language option and saved document with German name. When I switched to Page tab, I was able to edit the content and create German version.

Could you advice if you did the translation this way?

As for a screenshot: you can only link the image using image button in the editor.

Yes, I created the new versions the way that is described in that link.
I've uploaded the screenshots in one of our websites. I'll remove it quite soon.

Hi.

Could you check if your Firefox default language is German or English? You can find this in Settings - Options - Content - Select Language (the highest one).

I'm sorry, but I cannot, due to security reasons.

Maybe, I can send you an extract of the content, if it's possible to export.

RE:Multi culture website: cannot change culture with Firefox
Hi,

Could you please try to delete cookies in Firefox and also to clear the browser cache?

If this will not help you, could you send us your export http://devnet.kentico.com/docs/devguide/export_and_import_overview.htm of your web site to support@kentico.com so we can try to investigate what might be wrong in your case?

If the export will be of high size, you can send us link to some location where we can download the package.

Please mention this forum thread in your e-mail.

Best regards,
Ivana Tomanickova

I cleared the browser history and it started working.
Which was the issue? How can I reproduce it? I have to explain it to my internal customers.

Many thanks

RE:Multi culture website: cannot change culture with Firefox
Hi,
I'm developing a multilanguage website (2 language: vietnamese and england), too.
My problem as:
Changing the document culture in website is normal.
But url in English version is show url of Vietnamese version.

Eg: Vietnamese version : localhost:8022/Tin-tuc-su-kien.aspx
English version : localhost:8022/Tin-tuc-su-kien.aspx
but I want this url in english version as: localhost:8022/News-and-Event.aspx

I try to create alias of URL but english version is show ok and Vietnamese version is error.
How can I Update the URL of each version by language?
Thanks.

RE:Multi culture website: cannot change culture with Firefox
Hi,

Easiest way is to define the Document URL path directly - specifically for each language.
Please see the description and example of this setting in DevGuide article on document URL properties.

Optionally please describe which error do you get and any surrounding info.

Regards,
Zdenek C.
