Media Library Update file
I'm in the media library and using the Update button to update a file and its adding a new file instead of replacing the existing file is it possible to change this?

I have a document type with a number of fields which have a Field Type of "Media Selection"
And all the images are linking to the media library and we don't want to have to update the documents inside the tree when we update the image.

Hi,

this is information for the readers of this thread.

The issue was caused by the Chrome browser, which is not supported in R2 version. Only in the Chrome is the new image created instead of updating of old one. If you need to use this browser, you can apply the latest hotfix for R2 version.

RE:Media Library Update file
Hi,

could you please tell me what is you IE version and what version of Kentico do you use?
Does the update work correctly for you if you use for example the Firefox browser?

Thank you.

I have run into the same issue when using version 5.0 in Firefox. When a file is updated, a "-1, -2" are added and a new file created.

RE:Media Library Update file
Hi,

What version of FireFox do you use?
Also, I would like to recommend the upgrade - there was a bug when updating files. so, even if it is bug, it will be fixed in v7 only (However, I am unable to reproduce it on v6 and v7 of Kentico). So the upgrade would be necessary anyway.
I am sorry for this inconvenience.

Best regards,
