Permissions for Content Authors
I have content authors that may need to change the page template they are using when they are creating an Article. Problem is that when they are on the Properties tab > Template section...they only see the radio buttons to choose the level of inheritance. How can I give them permission to change the template without giving them all the power in the world? Could not find anything in permissions that would help.

Hi,

In the permissions section you need to select the Content module and grant the user role with "Design web site" permission. This will allow the users in this role to change the page templates and layout.

Hi there

A question concerning the subject of this post:

Is it possible to grant the "Design web site"- permission for specific subpages? So that f.Ex. I can allow a user to edit WebParts on only one page?

I asking this because I'm currently trying to customize user permsissions on an existing page so the editors can define a new poll they created in an existing poll-WebPart.

Hi,

I am afraid, this is not possible. It is possible to grant the Design permission or design tab per role and not per document.
