Active Directory import
Hi,

I am trying to do an AD import however initially the application kept crashing with error "CMS AD Import has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience"

After this I tried again and message informed "AD import is available only under Ultimate licence and Base licence with Advanced package"

Please can you help for me to get this up and running and import the users from AD.

Thanks,
Rupesh

RE:Active Directory import
Hi,

I am sorry for the first error message, it seems something went wrong during the first launch.

The second message you are getting - if you are not using mentioned license editions, you cannot use the import tool. You have to buy appropriate license or import the users manually (or using custom code and API).

Best regards,

Hi,

Please can you tell me which licence I would need to be able to use this feature?

RE:Active Directory import
Hi,

As the message says - "AD import is available only under Ultimate licence and Base licence with Advanced package" you need to buy a Base edition license with advanced package or the Ultimate edition license. For more details please see our Feature matrix.

RE:Active Directory import
Hi,

Is there any way to authenticate the users in our AD without doing the import?

Thanks,
Rupesh

RE:Active Directory import
Hi,

You can use the custom security handler to authenticate the users against external source, in this case AD.

Or, you can use just the AD authentication and the users are imported once they will sing in.

However, in Free edition the number of users is limited to 100. So, it is not that much work to import them manually.

RE:Active Directory import
Hi,

I am not familiar with programming. Please can you expand on how I would do this.

RE:Active Directory import
Hi,

Well, this is fully a custom development and programming. If you are not familiar with programming it is hard to explain...you should hire some programmer to do it (everything is described in the documentation I posted earlier) or, maybe you can try search on Google for some programming hints. Or, maybe the easiest way would be to buy a proper license ;-)
