Can kentico genertate thumbnail images for pdf files ?

Hello.

Where exactly would you like to generate it, please? However, as far as I know, we generate default “PDF document” icon only if we identify given file as PDF type (according to its extension).

I'd like to use a page, let's say the first page of the pdf as a thumbnail. Can kentico do this or just a thumbnail signifying it's a pdf ?

Hello.

You still did not specify where you want it. So I will assume that in Media library. In this case, you can do this thumbnail manually and specify “Thumbnail” property for every required pdf file. Regrettably we don’t have automatic mechanism for this.
