Site import from different version
Hi,

I've created a site export from 5.5 R2 Build: 5.5.3996 version and I plan to import this to v5.5.3789.

As the site was created in a trial environment and in a private IP. I want to export this site to a public IP to test from public access.

Before we do that, just want to make sure if we're doing it right. And we're concern about version compatibility issue and maybe other issues we don't know yet.

Need your expert advise.

Thanks!
Willy

RE:Site import from different version
Hello,

Well, this won't work since Kentico CMS is not backwards compatible. It would probably throw exceptions when importing into a lower version. Please try to import it to the same version of Kentico CMS (5.5R2 in your case).

Best regards

RE:Site import from different version
Thanks for clarifying.

How do I upgrade our existing version v5.5.3789 to 5.5R2?

You see, our existing version is a commercial lincense. 5.5r2 is on a trial version.
