Problem with free license key
Hi,

I am using free license key for development and its details are :
10.0.1.8 Full license Free 1
localhost Full license Free 1

It's working fine before importing a document type.
I imported default blog document type in my existing project because i have changed my blogs section according to our requirement.
When i import blog document type its works fine but after successfully importing this i get an error that's url is

http://10.0.1.8:150/cmsmessages/LicenseLimit.aspx

and message is

The page can not be displayed due to license limitations
Requested action was canceled due to nonfulfillment of some license limit. Please check event log to get more details.

How we can solve this problem???

If we purchase a license key then which type of license key to solve this problem.

Thanks,
Gaurav Agrawal

RE:Problem with free license key
Hello.

Please note Free license is limited is some features, like number of users, editors, products, documents, and so on. So it seems you got over some license limit, when you imported given object, maybe number of blogs, or something like that. You should see more details in Event log, in Site Manager -> Administration section.

You can also see full feature matrix here (where you can see limitations for all license editions): http://www.kentico.com/Downloads/KenticoCMS_55_R2_Pricing_for_Web.pdf

RE:Problem with free license key
Am I to understand that if we go over our limit Kentico will suddently display the message "The page can not be displayed due to license limitations" and not tell us how we went over our limitation? So then we have no information on how to resolve and we're forced to guess or upgrade?

RE:Problem with free license key
Hi,

The message also says "see event log for more details" - the details about which limitation was exceeded is being logged in Site Manager -> Administration -> Event log.

RE:Problem with free license key
I am experiencing this same problem. I am using the free edition (latest 6.0x build) to build a site as part of a lengthy assessment process to determining whether we should switch to Kentico (the trial period isn't nearly long enough for our assessment process).

I am the only user of the system (no other account even exists). I was signed and working on the site. Then, I clicked sign off so I could log onto the site from a different computer to work on the site. When I went back to the site, I get an error message "The page can not be displayed due to license limitations. Requested action was canceled due to nonfulfillment of some license limit. Please check event log to get more details."

It even displays this page to the public. First of all, how can I check the event log when I can't even see the site or log in to it. Second, how can I be in violation of the license limit if I'm the only person who has an account and I haven't logged into the site more than once?

This is really scary and is causing me to seriously consider dropping Kentico from our candidate list. We are a Fortune 100 company.

RE:Problem with free license key
Hi,

You can login to the Site Manager directly (e.g. www.domain.com/cmssitemanager) and then check the log.

The FREE edition is not limited just to the number of users but also to some features. So, it is possible that some of the features was used accidentally on the site. The event log will tell us more.

Btw. you can send us a trial key request to our support and we can prolong the 30 day trial for another 30 days if needed.
