Failure sending mail.
Hi,

I would like to ask why the mail is not send to corresponding email when user submit using a Form on the website.
I have checked the SMTP server and everything looks fine. But all the email are blocked in the email queue for about 1week and already tried to send manually but still failed. I also tried to send the email to my own email account but failed to receive also. May I know what is the problem and is there any way to solve it ?

Below is the event log message:
Event ID: 32001
Event type: Error

RE:Failure sending mail.
Hello,

Could you please check the SMTP sever configuration in Site manager?

You can test sending e-mails from Kentico CMS using the CMS Site Manager -> Administration -> System -> E-mail dialog.

Best regards,

RE:Failure sending mail.
Is the SMTP server located locally? If it is not, you might have issues with being able to send email to it since it is not on the same server or your credentials to the server are not correct.

Hi,

If you are not able to send the e-mail in Site Manager -> Administration -> System -> E-mail, it means that the credentials are not correct.

RE:Failure sending mail.
Hi Vinci,

This is probably because you did not setup the SMTP server in the global settings.

Cheers,
Jeroen

RE:Failure sending mail.
Hi Jeroen,

how to setup the SMTP server as you mention ? Because the system was installed in server but not locally, i did not have the access to the server and the in charge person just ask me to change the port number in kentico setting(usually at SMTP Server will put "localhost" ). May i know how to do this? Thank you.

RE:Failure sending mail.
Hi,

Please navigate to the Site Manager - Settings - E-mails. There is a field Server name. The value of this field should be in format serverName:portNumber

RE:Failure sending mail.
I also had the same problem, but changing the SMTP Server value to 'Server IP:Port Number' solved the issue.

Thanks

RE:Failure sending mail.
Hi,

Sorry to interrupt again, but I am having problems sending automatic emails, when a new comment is posted against a Blog-Post.

I have set the "Send comments to e-mail:" field for that Blog, But Email is not sent when a new comment is posted.
Also, there's no entry in "Email Queue" or "Sent Emails" tabs under Sitemanager -> Administration -> E-mail Queue

Can I get any halp about this?

Thanks
Ashish

RE:Failure sending mail.
Hello,

Could you please confirm if this issue is in a version 5 instance of Kentico?

Also, are you able to send any e-mails from within Kentico? Is the Enable e-mails setting enabled under Site Manager > Settings > System > E-mails > E-mail processing?

If so, are you getting any errors under Site Manager > Administration > Event log after submitting the comment?

Please let me know which exact version you are running and I will attempt to reproduce the issue.

Best Regards,
Sandro
