Administering data on Production from Staging
Hello all:

We have a staging/production setup where we sync our content on a 6-hr cycle from staging in production. We only allow individuals to access staging for all content administration with only certain people in IT who have access to the production cmsdesk/cmssitemanager.

The issue we are coming across are people who are using modules like bizforms and others that generate records in the production database. Since they don't have access to production, they can't access that data. Is there anyway to point them from staging to production?

The issue becomes more pronounced as we look to create our own TOOL menu modules where they would need to manipulate live (production) data directly.

Our initial idea would be to do a nightly import using SQL tools of the particular tables back into staging... it's not the neatest approach and there are some potential downsides to this approach also though.

I'm wondering if anyone else has had any suggestions on this issue.

RE:Administering data on Production from Staging
Hi,

As you can see from the staging documentation, the forms data are not synchronized. In this case, you will need to use the SQL import tools to transfer the data from the DB to DB directly.

Best regards,
