Sent emails not appearing in "sent emails" in cmsdesk
Hi guys,

I'm having a strange issue where after an email has been sent out in Kentico, it doesn't appear in the "sent items" tab of the Email Queue. The archive emails setting has been set to 30 days for both the global settings and the site settings; is there anything else I need to check? Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

The email in question is being sent out by the following line of code;

EmailSender.SendEmailWithTemplateText(CMSContext.CurrentSiteName, message, template, macroResolver, bSendImmediately);

Hello,

I'm just wondering if you have set the 'Enable e-mail' option within your site settings.

If yes, I'm running out of ideas why that e-mails are not shown within sent e-mails. As I can see, you have valid maintenance, therefore I kindly ask you to send us the support ticket to support@kentico.com with credentials to your site and we'll try to investigate further in your issue.

Hi Ondrej,

I've worked out what the issue was - I misunderstood the default setting of 0 as "remain in sent email queue indefinitely", setting the number of days to expiry to a very large number will satisfy the customer requirements.

For a future version of Kentico though, it might be good to split the archive email option into two parts; enable/disable email archiving, and number of days to retain in queue (and either leaving it blank or something like that to indicate that emails should remain in archive indefinitely)?

(Also, in regards to my initial post in this thread, not sure why setting it to 30 days didn't work the first time we tried it, but it's definitely working now)

Firstly I'm glad that you've figured that out and it works now as expected.

Anyway, I'm passing this suggestion to our product manager, who will consider adding that within further versions of Kentico CMS.
