Multiple Document Selector form control?
Hi all,

Is there a Document Selector form control that allows multiple selection?

Thanks,
Ricardo

RE:Multiple Document Selector form control?
Hi,

Regrettably, there is no such a form control. You need to develop a custom form control with desired behavior.

But, if you could describe how how would you like it to be - its behavior, how the data should be stored (what format), I will suggest this to our developers to add it to one of the next versions.

RE:Multiple Document Selector form control?
Hi Juraj,

It would be identical to the document selector, but instead of choosing only one document, you could add the documents you want to a list.
The way I've seen it implemented in other CMS (Umbraco) is by storing a comma-separated list of document ids.

Usages of this would be for things like highlighted articles, promotional banners, etc..., where you can select the items you want as highlights.

We're still evaluating if we need to implement this or we can get around it by implementing a different solution. If you think this is interesting, we can discuss further a possible implementation.

Thanks,
Ricardo

RE:Multiple Document Selector form control?
Hi again,

Thank you for the feedback,. Sounds good. I have forwarded it to our developers and I hope they will add it in the next version release (I think that implementing it should not be a problem for them :-))

Best regards,

RE:Multiple Document Selector form control?
I second this. I am currently converting an Umbraco site to Kentico 6 for a client and they had heavily used the multiple document selector control in their Umbraco site. It is very embarrassing to have to tell them that even though Kentico is awesome, it can't do this one thing that Umbraco can do.

I don't have the time budgeted to create a custom control for this. The interface used on Umbraco is very intricate. However, something similar to the multiple class name selector may work in the mean time. It would be better to have a list of the selected documents with their document type icon and Document name displayed in a box where they can be re-ordered easily.

If anyone out there has created a control like this, please share it with us on the marketplace. I will promise to do the same if I am able to create one.
