PreLoading Layouts with Custom WebParts
If I create a custom page layout, how can I preload custom web parts so that they do not need to be added every time I use the layout? My custom page layout includes navigation which is fixed and is a web part that I have created. I could bring the layout into Visual Studio but the only way I could think of using a custom web part was to drag the web part onto the designer surface. Is there another way? It is already added into Kentico's web part library.

RE:PreLoading Layouts with Custom WebParts
Hi,

Are you using portal engine or ASPX development model? The mention about Visual studio confuses me.

In portal engine, you can create a custom page template. You will assign your layout to this page template and also, place the web parts you want to have on this page template (e.g. you will create a dummy page using this page template in content tree and then on Design tab you will add the web parts). Now, if you will use this page template for the documents - it will be always the same with the same layout and web parts.

Best regards,
