Best way to notify that a content on a site has been modified
I need to notify when some content has been modified in the "international" site
so to alert some people that should consequently update the chinese site with new translated contents. Is it possible to "capture" some event in cmsdesk so to send an email ? or is there some other way to do something similar via batch / scheduled task ?
[ there's no need to send an e-mail immediatly ... ]
and no sort of sincronization needed because I suppose the chinese contents have to be prepared before they can be published.
Thank you very very much in advance for you help. Kind Regards. Andrea

RE:Best way to notify that a content on a site has been modified
Hello,

The easiest solution would be to use workflow on documents which you need to monitor for content changes. If you check Send workflow e-mails in Site Manager -> Settings -> Content Management, the workflow process will automatically notify members of the authorized roles that there was a document changed. This can be set for roles in Site Manager -> Administration -> Permissions -> Content -> Manage workflow (notification e-mails will be sent to all users who belong to the role which has this property checked). After that, you can check those documents and make necessary changes like translating modified content, etc.

More information about workflow process and e-mail notification can be found in Developer's Guide - Workflow and versioning.

Best regards,
