Hello,

If you are looking to duplicate a new site where Kentico is not installed, you can simply create a copy of both your project folder and database, and then restore these items to your new server. After these items have been restored, update your connection string in the web.config file to point to the new database, and register the new site in IIS.

Thanks for the reply, what if I'm already running a Kentico site and want to duplicate it and run it on the same server.

Put basically, when I log into the Kentico site admin control panel I can see my "Site A". I would like to be able to duplicate 'Site A' and then add a new website 'Site B' which is the copy of the original site.

Is this possible?

Anyone? Not sure how best to progress with this. Have an existing Kentico site, through the site manager I'd like to duplicate it and assign the duplicate to a new URL so I can make changes (mainly language based) to it.

I realise Kentico allows multi-lingual versions of sites but the changes here would be more than just text, there'd be small layout changes but it would still essentially be a copy of the initial site.

I can see the export site wizard and the create site wizards but am unsure if I should use either of those.

Member	eoin-fusio - 4/30/2013 10:40:06 AM RE:Quickest way to duplicate a site To anyone doing this, be careful. I exported the site, reimported it as a new site and all appeared to go ok. However, for some reason the import screwed with a bunch of the custom tables primary keys so I had to reindex them all. not nice. Also now have no idea if this new site is actually going to work.
