Changing template for future issues of existing newsetter

I am developing the second edition of a newsletter. The first edition was already sent out. I was hoping to change the template on the newsletter, and then create a second issue. Even though Kentico lets me do this, the first and second issue both still use the first template. I checked the preview and also sent it out.

Is this supposed to work as I have described?

I've setup editable regions in the meantime, but would like to know.

Hello Joe,

Regrettably, it is not possible to use different templates in one newsletter. Only one template can be applied to all issues of a newsletter. If any future issue you need to send requires different template, you will need to change it for all issues (edit Newsletter -> Configuration tab -> Newsletter template). This behavior currently by design.
