Prevent a non admin user to view a page
Hi!

I've made a web site in which an Administrator link exists (actually a new page under the site tree). I want this link (when navigating in live mode) to be visible and clickable only by administrator users. There is no way for me to put this page as viewable only for administrators because all the types of users can view this link and access the page.

Could you please tell me how to do this?

Thanks in advance!
Bruno

RE:Prevent a non admin user to view a page
You could put it on a page that is not in the site map & not in the menu system, then give it an alias like: domain.com/admin

Tell the administrators to go to domain.com/admin to log in.

Hello,

A second approach would be to use content personalization.

RE:Prevent a non admin user to view a page
Hi Boris.

I've already tried it but it doesn't work at all, that's why I put the message in the forum.

What I've done on my newly created "Administracion" page is:
1.- Giving full control to that page to "Global Administrator".
2.- Denying all access rights for "Authenticated users" to this page.

But in any case all the authenticated users (who are not global administrators) can view the tab and even access to the page without any problem, the same way as before giving/denying the permissions...

Any help?

Thanks a lot!!!
Bruno

RE:Prevent a non admin user to view a page
Hello,

As it turns out, I wasn't able to reproduce your issue. My setup is the following:

1) Check the "Check permissions" property on the navigation menu.
2) Go to the root of the web site and add the Read permission for the role Authenticated users.
3) Go to the page which you don't want to have displayed to the Authenticated users and check the Deny option for the role Authenticated users on the Read permission.

Please try to follow the exact steps once more. If this doesn't help, please post screenshots of the Web part configuration and the permissions for the Authenticated users role on both nodes.

Best regards,
