UI Personalization - restricting an editor's design rights

We have a new business role that should only be able to add, remove and edit Polls. And they should only be able to do that in a particular Zone on a particular page.

How can I do this?

They should not have access to be able to modify, move, edit, create or delete any other web parts, nor modify template properties or layouts.

We are running v5.5R2

Hi Lance,

There is a trick you can use.

1. You can create a dummy page somewhere in you Content
2. Create a Page template specifically for this purpose (named Polls Template for instance)
3. In the page where you want to show your Poll you add a webpart called Page Placeholder and specify Polls Template as your default template
3. Assign the security to the dummy page as your user should have (Add, remove, edit polls)

Hi,

I dont think so.

what you could do is use a Document type with a Poll selector. So that your user can use the Form tab.

By default the Polls selector is not available in the document type.

But you can change that

CMSSiteManager > Development > Foms controls > Poll Selector

put a check box beside "Show control in document types"

and it will be available in your textbox fields
