Administratively checked in pages that were never checked in by user, changes lost?
We had a few pages that were created by a user, but never checked. They needed to be published, so using the global admin I checked them in and published them.

Two problems, after I published them, the live site tab still said they weren't published and we got a 'page not found error' on the actual site. I rolled back to earliest version listed and them published, then they worked. I repeated the process for the other pages and they now existed.

Secondly some of the pages had information on them, but it doesn't exist anymore. I tried to roll back to the 0.1 version but no luck.

Is this data lost? If someone else creates a page and an admin checks it in for the first time will it just be a blank page even if the user created content?

RE:Administratively checked in pages that were never checked in by user, changes lost?
Hello,

It's possible these documents had a Publish from date set in the future or a Publish to date set in the past, which would prevent these documents from showing on the live site even though they were published.

The data shouldn't be lost. Instead it should be saved in a different version than you are currently viewing, unless you deleted the version history for these documents.

Also, can you please let us know which version of Kentico CMS you are current using?

Best Regards,
Edward Hillard
