How do i add some colour to the background of my site?
My website look dull, other than a welcome flash and some image and wording, i would say basically the interface is white, was thinking of adding some colour or theme to make it look nice or lively

Any step or guide would be helpful :)

Hello.

I am sorry, from that screenshot, I cannot recognize what is that white rectangle. Is it some web part? If so, what is its name? If it is e.g. CMSMenu, could you please take a look into your site´s stylesheet (Site Manager -> Development -> CSS stylesheet) for classes of appropriate name, and change required property?

Best Regards,
Radek Macalik

You can drag and drop the screenshot into the address bar and get a full view...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v174/olivero/homes.jpg

It looks like it is the Horizonal Nav (CMSMenu).

Edit your style sheet.

Site Manager> Development> CSS StyleSheets > Select Stylesheet..

Look for all classes with horizontalCMSMenu and horizontalsubCMSMenu.

Simply remove any "background:#???" OR Comment out...
/*background:#???*/

Be sure to keep a back up!

Hi Daniel,

You can just remove the background declaration or change the background to the same color that you use for background of page. Please see W3CSchools CSS Background tutorial for some examples.

If this won't help, could you please post your styles declaration for horizontalCMSMenu and horizontalsubCMSMenu classes here?

Best Regards,

Martin Dobsicek

RE:How do i add some colour to the background of my site?
Hello,

I am sorry for the delay.

It is difficult for us to guess, what is the class name of the web part, you want to alter. I would suggest, you either try to edit the web part and check it's settings, if there is a "CSS prefix/CSS class" declaration in the "Design" section and edit this declaration in the stylesheet. Or you can use e.g. the addon firebug for Firefox to identify the class of the web part.

I hope this helps.

Best Regards,
