Custom Controls/Forms, basically customisable

Hi,

I'm struggling to customise the CMS, for example custom controls/forms/web parts etc. I might be missing something, however the documentation isn't that good and doesn't provide real world examples, just how to output a datetime when a button is clicked, wow!!

If anyone has any good links to examples, or can advise on best practices when using the CMS and trying to customise it that would be great.

Hi,

The examples in documentation show only the basic idea and needs that have to be done to make it work correctly in Kentico CMS - how to register and use custom web part, form control, etc. All other development is up to you and it is standard ASP.Net development process for which you can find many examples on the Internet.

Please note that web parts in Kentico CMS may have little bit different life cycle than in clean .Net project.
