Cannot update reference to new AjaxControlToolkit
We are trying to use an updated version of the AJAX Control Toolkit, but it appears that this is not possible. The version of the toolkit we are attempting to use is 3.0.20820. We have rebuilt the site successfully using the newer toolkit but when viewing the site in the browser and error is displayed looking for the version of the toolkit that was shipped. We have also tried adding a dependency update in the web.config for the older toolkit to be mapped to the newer version. Please advise how we can use this newer toolkit (as we also sometimes have need to create extensions of the toolkit). Thanks.

RE:Cannot update reference to new AjaxControlToolkit
Ah wow. Thanks for the link. I guess I should have stated we were using v4.0, so the link would not help much. Again, if I reference the newer toolkit it builds fine. The problem is that the file left in the Bin folder is the older one and consequently an error ensues. I have tried manually removing the file and replacing it with the newer one and rebuilding (no errors). It appears to be some sort of runtime dependency within one of the CMS dlls. Thoughts?

RE:Cannot update reference to new AjaxControlToolkit
Hi,

I am sorry but this is not possible without source code since some of the CMS assemblies have references to the particulat AJAX version - to the DLL file.
