Links to Media Library files
When adding a link to a file in the media library through the FCKEditor in the CMS Desk, the link defaults to the "http://" protocal and places the full url of the current server in the link (i.e. http://devserver/getmedia/). This is different then the default behavior when creating a link to a file node created within the desk, which uses the "<other>" protocol and uses a relative link (i.e. ~/getfile).

I ran into the issue after I moved a site from our development server to a live server and had to write some replacement scripts for the database to correct the URLs.

Is there a reason that the links to the media library are created differently then links to file nodes?

RE:Links to Media Library files
Hello.

We are aware of this behavior and we are sorry for this inconvenience. This behavior is changed since version 4.1, which should be released within one week.

Also, please see following example. If you have live domain name e.g. mydomain.com, and develoment domain dev.domain.com, it is recommended to use live domain name as Site domain name, and dev.domain.com as domain alias. Then, you can develop on development license, but in link will be used live site domain name (so there will be no problem when you move site live).
