Visual studio is busy
I just started on a project with kentico, when I open it in visual studio either with the sln file or as a web site, visual studio freezes up and I get a notification in my task bar stating that visual studio is busy waiting for an internal process. this is happening across multiple machines in VS2008 standard and VWD express. It even happens if I just open a couple of files (not as a website or project) . I've never seen this before and other projects are still running just fine.

What could be causing this?

RE:Visual studio is busy
Hi Justin,

I have sent you an e-mail already. I will write it also here for other users.

The problem could be caused when trying to run the solution file for .NEt 2.0 and VS2005. It seems that the VS2008 is busy with the conversion. Could you please try to run the web installer again and select the option to install Kentico CMS for .Net 3.5 and Visual Studio 2008?

Best Regards,
Juraj Ondrus

RE:Visual studio is busy
I submitted this as a bug to Microsoft. There were similar issues in their bug reports but none quite like what I was experiencing. It was happening to me in very specific circumstances and I found a workaround that worked for me.

Basically, after opening the web site, close all open files through the Window -> Close All Documents menu item, open a file like Default.aspx in the root, close Visual Studio and then reopen Visual Studio and the site.

All the details are here:
